PA House Cancels Lame-Duck Session

Lame DuckToday, Pennsylvania House of Representatives leaders announced there would be no more voting days this year, rather than holding a planned lame-duck session.

Please be advised that the House session days on Nov 8th, 9th, 15th & 16th will be NON-VOTING session days.

The session on Nov. 10th is cancelled.

Members are asked to report to the floor on Monday, Nov. 15th at 1 p.m. for the Speaker’s end-of-session remarks.

This is good news, as it should signal the death of the Union Pension Bailout.

However, Gov. Rendell will ask lawmakers to come back one more time. Not that anyone should listen to Gov. Rendell, who is a lame duck himself, and just had his failed policies repudiated by voters.

But sometimes lawmakers come back anyway. In other words, the pension bill is only mostly dead, not all dead.
