Exposing the State Store Myth on Facebook?

One of my friends sends me this [names redacted]:

So one of my facebook friends just turned 21, and this is her Facebook status right now:

just bought my first bottle at the state store, AND DIDN’T EVEN GET CARDED, WTF?!?!?

You can’t tell me she didn’t get carded because the clerk knew she was 21 today when she was 20 last week.

One of the myths repeated by those defending government-run liquor stores is that government employees, as opposed to those in the private sector, are eternally vigilant in carding buyers.  Of course, no one could really knows the veracity of these claims, as the state police exempt state stores from “stings”.
