A New Chapter: Announcing the Thomas E. Beach Center
This week marks an important milestone for the Commonwealth Foundation, with the opening and dedication of its new headquarters. The Thomas E. Beach Center, a three-story building located just steps from the state Capitol, serves as an enduring symbol of the organization’s continued growth, influence, and effectiveness. Most importantly, it’s a fitting tribute to Tom Beach and the unparalleled role he has played in advancing the organization and its mission.
Throughout the organization’s history, the Commonwealth Foundation has been fortunate to share office space alongside allied organizations. But along with growth in size and scale came the need for a new space.
For the first time, this new facility establishes the organization with a dedicated building, meeting the demands of its expanded team. With the continued presence in Harrisburg’s power center, the Commonwealth Foundation can continue to turn free-market ideas into actionable policies.
This exciting new development would not have been possible without one of the organization’s most ardent supporters, Tom Beach. As a long-time supporter and board member, his wisdom and steady hand guided the organization through some of its most critical moments. Beyond that, he has been instrumental in shaping the growth and success of the Commonwealth Foundation through his sacrificial generosity, including his time, talent, and treasure.
Beach was honored at Tuesday’s ribbon-cutting event, surrounded by an audience of supporters, to mark the official opening of the new facility. Commonwealth Foundation CEO and President Andrew Lewis opened the event with remarks honoring Tom’s central role in propelling the organization to new levels of success. Lewis highlighted how Beach’s contributions—his vision, drive, and unyielding commitment to freedom—built a legacy that will continue to guide the organization for years to come.
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, event attendees then visited and toured the new facility. Inside, participants also enjoyed a champagne toast delivered by George Coates, the Commonwealth Foundation’s board chair.
“It is without question that Tom Beach is a pillar of our movement,” said Coates.
Thanks to Beach’s contribution in shaping the organization’s growth trajectory, the Commonwealth Foundation is more effective than ever in advancing meaningful reforms in Pennsylvania. From securing educational opportunities for the kids to expanding the commonwealth’s status as an energy-producing powerhouse, the organization remains committed to seeing Pennsylvanians thrive.
