Abbey Haslam
Director of Government Affairs
Abbey joined the Commonwealth Foundation after nearly a decade of working with lawmakers inside the Pennsylvania State Capitol to advance free-market policies. As a communications manager for the state House of Representatives, she researched and communicated a broad range of issues including educational opportunity, energy independence, fiscal responsibility, and tax reform. She has traveled extensively across Pennsylvania and built a strong network of relationships with media, business, and government leaders.
Recognized for her leadership and impact, Abbey has twice been named to City & State Pennsylvania’s Who’s Who in Government Affairs list. She was also honored with Shippensburg University’s Service to Alumni Award for Professional Development and remains an active member of the Pennsylvania Public Relations Society.
A proud graduate of Shippensburg University with a B.A. in Communication/Journalism, Abbey continues to give back to her alma mater through her service on the College of Arts & Sciences Alumni Advisory Board.
