Born and raised in California, Charlette has a BS in Economics from the University of California Riverside. Before joining the Commonwealth Foundation in 2021, Charlette worked editing and writing for a variety of news organizations, think-tanks, trade forums, education platforms, and banking & insurance companies first in Venezuela and then in the United States. Published—with bylines in English and Spanish—she enjoys helping writers.
Charlette knows the best job has been raising four girls and one son and strongly believes parents should be the ones in charge of their children’s education. She and her husband now live in Maryland. Charlette enjoys dancing, Latin music, volleyball, good reads, and visiting with family—especially their two grandchildren.
