EDITORIAL | Taxpayers lose in Pa. pension gamble

We hate to have to say “We told you so.” So we won’t. But we’ll let the Chambersburg Public Opinion do it. 🙂

“The stock market was strong back then; both state retirement funds (State
Employees’ Retirement System and the Public School Employees’ Retirement
System) had surpluses. Still, the Commonwealth Foundation called it a
legislative money grab, and expressed concern about the state’s and
taxpayers’ future ability to fund the system.

“Unfortunately for taxpayers, the Commonwealth Foundation
turned out to be right.“
