Video: Fiscal Lessons for Pennsylvania
In a new video, Maurice McTigue, Vice President at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, and a former member of the New Zealand Parliament, speaks about how Pennsylvania can addess its long-term budget problems, based on lessons in New Zealand. McTigue outlines the benefits of eliminating agriculture subsidies, ending corporate welfare, identifying successful and failing programs, and setting parameters to guide fiscal decisions.
McTigue also co-authored a recent policy paper outlining seven ideas for state policymakers dealing with fiscal crises.
