Here’s some friendly advice to the new Pennsylvania general assembly

Pennsylvania lawmakers swore their oath of office in Harrisburg, and a new legislative session is upon us. As two former public servants, we want to offer some perspective and advice to the incoming Pennsylvania General Assembly.
First and foremost, the November election was a referendum on the economy. Rampant inflation and the rising cost of living inspired voters in Pennsylvania and the rest of the country to reject President Joe Biden’s national economic vision. Pennsylvania legislators must recognize their constituents’ thirst for reforms that will drive economic growth and prosperity.
Indispensable measures include cutting taxes and enacting meaningful regulatory reform. Nationally, Pennsylvania ranks 25th in tax burden and 14th in regulatory burden, meaning there is plenty of room for improvement. Harrisburg can empower individuals and businesses to invest in, build, and grow economic prosperity in the commonwealth by providing tax relief and cutting bureaucratic red tape.
