Are socialists having their moment? Recent elections and polling suggest Democrats are increasingly favorable toward socialism.

Sort of.

When asked if they favored “socialism” or “capitalism,” a majority of Democrats opted for socialism. However, in the same poll, the results flipped when respondents answered about their support for “socialism” versus “free enterprise.” Instead, 68 percent of Democrats preferred free enterprise.
