You May Support School Vouchers More Than You Realize

Today marks the beginning of National School Choice Week—an annual reminder that all students deserve schools that best meet their academic needs.
Inevitably, discussion about school choice evokes a polarizing word: “vouchers.” Use this politically loaded term at your own risk. Few people hold casual opinions on the matter. This is especially true of opponents—teacher unions, partisan Democrats, and white progressives—who reflexively bristle at its mere mention.
But many Americans, including voucher opponents, have already embraced the principles behind this “controversial” proposal. They just don’t realize it.
