Unleash Competition to Meet the Commonwealth’s Urgent Energy Needs

Pennsylvania has always been an energy powerhouse. Its robust mix of coal, natural gas, nuclear power, and renewable resources powers its homes, industries, and businesses. But if Pennsylvania wants to grow, lawmakers need to remember a simple truth: Prosperity depends on plentiful, affordable electricity.
And if Pennsylvania wants affordable, reliable electricity, it needs market-tested competition. When companies are free to invest, build, and compete, the state gets more ideas, capital, and projects, giving it a better chance of meeting rising demand. When government narrows the field or monopolizes resources, consumers are left with higher costs and less security.
As electricity demand rises, Pennsylvania needs more power generation. New data centers, advanced manufacturing, and expanding communities all require reliable electricity. A growing economy cannot run on wishful thinking. It runs on power plants, pipelines, wires, and—most importantly—policies that allow them to be built.
